What inspired you to create Sarita Baby?
It happened by accident.  I started making bibs for my daughter and quilts for gifts for friends and family.  I saw an episode of Martha Stewart where she was talking about Etsy and I thought hmmmmm maybe I can make some extra cash while staying at home and boom, here I am 4 years later!

Do you have fashion design in your background or is this something you learned on your own?

Originally I wanted to take fashion design in college but never did.  I have always fooled around on a sewing machine making purses out of jeans and so on When I was younger I would take anything "artsy" I could in High School.

What has been the highlight in the last couple of years since creating Sarita Baby

One of the highlights would have to be being asked to go down to the Pre-Golden Globes Boom Boom Room in LA which is a Celebrity lounge where you have a table and the celebs come around and see you products and choose one.  So my Hubby and I went together and made a vacation out of it.  Here's a link to my album of the event on Facebook 

Tell us about creating the original Sophie Leash? Did you get tired of playing catch, LOL!

I did not create the "original" Sophie Leash but I did have an issue of constantly picking up toys and sippy cups and even losing a few so I thought I need to start making something to save my sanity and it has become my best seller hands down.

Who is your favorite textile designer, what inspires you to create?

I would say that my fave is probably Michael Miller, the designs are just perfect for children and I love the vintage inspiration they often have.  My inspiration often comes from searching the internet and looking at fabric, that definitely gives my inspiration!
