Baby Wearing Institute: e-book giveaway

This is one of my MUST HAVE books for all families to learn about baby carriers and why it is important to learn the Dos & Donts.  It can save your little ones life and prevent issues that can develop with in proper baby carrying such as hip dysplasia.  You'll learn hints and tips in picking a baby carrier too.

This book from the Baby Wearing Institute will take you through the development of the spine and hips, what carriers to avoid as baby's body is developing. It will also teach you about framed backpack carriers, wraps, slings, pouches, African Kanga, Asian Style Carriers, Soft Structured Carriers, how to wear newborns to toddlers.....this book is loaded with valuable info.
Baby's are carried in us for 10 months it only makes sense to carry them outside of the womb. It is the quickest way to soothe and help baby sleep. I can't count the numerous times I have had a baby sleeping in all of the below carriers I have used.

I used this a lot when Charlie was a newborn, New Native Pouch
Because it's International Baby Wearing Week, Everything Mom and Baby feels very passionate about carrying baby.  It is one of my favorite experiences Motherhood has brought me and I'd love to share my various stages of baby carrying with you.
Happy in Chunei

Here are just a handful of some of my favorite and not so favorite experiences in babycarrying.
This is my first carrier,  a Chunei. It was great but I had a hard time with the buckles in the back, I got so frustrated I gave up but he's happy and sweet in it.  It's a good carrier with velcro to secure you in. I did feel safe and confident in it.
I adored my New Native Baby Pouch, it was so handy and easy to use.

Me holding Charlie in not a good carrier. His head is nowhere near close enough for me to kiss. A sign of improper positioning! Not a happy baby carrying moment.
Rockin' out in Lenka Beco Butterfly 2
I've made mistakes(as seen above) when I first became a mother and had my son in a crotch dangling carrier. I began researching because something just didn't feel right. I was mortified that through lack of knowledge I was putting pressure on my sons spine and his little legs dangling. Not good.

Thanks to blogging Beco was one of my first sponsors and first supporters of my blog. I have reviewed and worked with them numerous times.  A wonderful carrier. I like the inside panel that holds baby nicely in and you can pass baby from partner to partner without too much disturbance, super comfy to wear as well.

Next came my Mei Tai style Toddler Hawk by Baby Hawk.  Super funky designs. A great Mei Tai and don't know why I don't have a picture. I loved the Toddler Hawk because I have a tall boy and for a Mei Tai it offered great height in back support so he fell asleep he has some support.

Love my Boba, this was my fave for back carry
I then had a Boba that a friend let me try, this is the first one from their designs, they just came out with a new 3G and it is another great and comfortable carrier.  I loved the waist band of this carrier, it was fabulous for back carry.
German designed and my fave, Manduca
Then I came across Manduca, which is my favorite still. Just the comfort, style and features are great. I love the waist band for the support, the built in infant insert and hoddy and expendable body makes it a truly unique carrier. I do love it the most. I do, I do, I do. All of the above are just as lovely but I am fond of Manduca which is why I retail it.

What about wraps and slings? Wraps seem to be the best way to carry baby from what I have been reading.
I wish when I went to stores employees were better trained. When I become a brick and mortar store everyone will be trained and be passionate as I am about babywearing.

Soothed in CuddlyWrap
Cuddly Wrap sent me a beautiful wrap to review. It is so comfortable! So, so, so, comfortable.
One of the benefits of babywearing is to soothe.  My tot was sick in this photo believe it or not and just wants to be close to me so this was cozy for the both of us.
Hip carry snuggles in RBS
Then there are slings. I have evolved from infant carrying to toddler carrying. Toddler carrying is possible and I do it with pride because my son benefits from it. I get hugs and kisses and I have a happy child in my arms. My hands are free and even though people snicker and think I am nuts, I do not care. My son is happy. Here is one of my favorite slings, Rockin Baby Sling.  Comfort and love.

All the brands here are great and all come highly recommended. If you are researching baby carriers do find a store near you so you can try them all on.
Lovely in Onya Baby
Onya Baby is a really well made, comfortable carrier that also can be a baby seat.  It is a carrier like no other and comes in two styles.  The Cruiser made of Cotton and the Outback made of a water resistant material.

Sleepy in Natural Mother Productions
A new carrier that I am over the moon about is one I had designed especially for me and my tall toddler.  It is a very special carrier I hold dear to my heart because it was hand made for me, it's super comfortable and has a UV protective hood.  It's Natural Mother Productions and we'll have more coming with this Canadian company. It's a mei tai style with a buckles.

I want you to learn about babywearing through the BabyWearing Institute so we are giving away two copies of their e-book.
