Sore back post partum? Yes.
Breast feeding(when I did) and hunched over back, I just happened to hunch over. Yes
Had a epidural. Yes.
Blogger and sitting in a improper chair. Yes.
Weak core muscles after baby? Yes.
For me that is what has contributed to my low back pain, I can be at the computer here and there checking the blog, emails, orders from my shop and before you know it an hour or two has gone by and I get up and my back hurts as I sit at the dining room table.
Well not anymore since I got the new Obus Forme which now offers a Lowback Backrest Support Cushion. In fact I noticed a change in comfort within the day if using it. I swear!
It has been ergonomically designed to improve back support for any chair by reducing pressure and stress for the back and neck.
Dr.Sender Deutsch has offered this piece of advice for new moms and moms to be:
What is the best way to prevent back pain from occurring during and after pregnancy? For many new mothers, adjusting to life postpartum can be a major source of stress and strain. Post labour pains and changes to the body like back pain and weight gain are common issues. While most doctors recommend that a new mother visit a chiropractor to assist in any physical adjustments after birth, more often than not, life with a new baby makes planning a visit too time consuming and therefore too difficult. But don’t fret; here is some advice to help you deal with postpartum back pain so you stay healthy and productive after birth.
It’s no secret that your body goes through many changes during pregnancy. The most obvious of these changes is weight gain, but some changes aren’t always so obvious. While your body naturally gains the weight it needs to support a baby during pregnancy, we don’t always take the precautions necessary to prevent these new physical changes from taking a toll on our bodies after pregnancy. This new weight places different stress levels on your joints, bones, and muscles, which can leave you feeling sore, tender and uncomfortable after birth.
The majority of burden from this new weight falls on your back, which can lead to the displacement of the spine and curvature of the back. After birth, your back must once again readjust to its new weight distribution. These challenges often lead to the development of lower back pain, which is one of the most common postpartum health conditions.
Exercise tips:
A good way to battle post partum back pain starts with exercise during and after pregnancy. By activating your core muscles through exercises like planks, side-planks and bird-dogs during pregnancy you keep your body fit and allow your cells to replenish themselves by increasing circulation of oxygen and white blood cells in your body. Of course you must first get medical clearance to exercise from your GP before exerting yourself physically. Great ways to stay active include walking, yoga, and stretching daily.
Another good preventative measure to use during and after pregnancy is to use ergonomically designed back products. Ergonomic back support products and massage products prevent back pain from occurring and alleviate back pain once it has occurred. Brands such as ObusForme offer a great range of ergonomic products designed to relieve strain placed on the back by promoting a correct anatomical back alignment and an even distribution of weight across the back, neck, and shoulders.
The ObusForme Lowback Back Rest Support Cushion is a great addition to any chair you use during and after pregnancy that will help prevent back pain from becoming a problem. A back belt is another highly recommended product that supports the lower back and promotes muscle relaxation and proper back alignment.
Don’t let issues like low back pain limit your health before or after birth. Take steps to ensure that you are exercising and stretching, and apply ergonomic products early in pregnancy to beat low back pain before it occurs.
