I've had a few memorable calls over the years, but one that stands out the most is the first phone conversation I had with my now fiancé. We met online over 3 years ago, and began talking on messenger, moved to text, and then to phone calls. That first one was memorable, because I think he'd had a couple of drinks, and he shared a lot of information, for some it probably would have freaked them out, but I was really happy to be having a conversation with someone so open, as I'm a very open person too. That first phone conversation, led to many more, some as long as 5 hours, and then to him asking me on a "real date".

Here we are 3 years later, with an 8 month old, moving into a larger place, not planning our wedding for the second summer in a row. ;) (Darn pregnancy, babies, moving, not helping with getting married) and having an amazing time together.

I will always remember that first phone call, and mostly remember the hundreds, if not thousands that have followed. We're a very chatty couple. :)

My most memorable phone call isn't a happy one - it's the first one that came to my mind though. I was driving home from my friends place and I was on the hwy - this was when it wasn't illegal to talk on a cell phone. My mom called and proceeded to tell me that my grandma (my best friend) had just died. Not a safe time to call your daughter and tell her something like that. I will never ever forget where I was when I received that horrible phone call. I drove straight to my then boyfriends house and bawled the rest of the night away. We have since broken up (I'm now married to my love and have a dd and a ds on the way) - but I am thankful forever that he was there for me that night.

My most memorable recent phone call was from a very good friend to tell me her pregnancy test was positive. This friend wasn't sure that she could ever have children and has been through a lot in the last couple of years. I am over the moon for her. :)

MY most memorable call happened last spring. I had just returned to work after me second mat leave. It was a job that I didn't want and I had been looking for a new job for a few months. I had hoped to start a new job before the end of my mat leave to avoid returning to my existing job.

I had taken the morning off to accompany my son who was visiting his new school for a Kindergarten orientation. I was waiting outside when my cell rang. It was one of the people who had interviewed me the week before for a new job to offer me the job! I was so happy to go to work that afternoon and hand in my resignation letter.

My most memorable call was one I made - I had gone in with my hubby for an ultrasound to see how far along I was and the technician excused herself to call someone else and I was freaking out thinking there was something wrong. Turns out I was having TWINS! I called my mom the second I got out of there and I got to tell not only was she going to be a grandma - but a grandma of 2! She was so happy she cried!

Most memorable call(s) was in 2007, calling my parents and best friends to let them know that John proposed to me. It was the most exciting day of our lives (before Kyle was born) and I didn't care that I was on the phone 24/7!

My husband called to let me know that he had won a BMW Cabriolet. I had given him a rough time for spending $50 on a lottery type ticket. It was such an exciting time.

The most memorable phone call that comes to mind is when I called my grandmother and aunt after having my son and telling them that it was a little boy! My husband and I never found out we were having so it was a great surprise for everyone to hear what we had!

The most memorable call that I had it's a pretty sad one though. It's that while I was pregnant with my first child, his ultrasound had shown some abnormality that the clinic called me and I had to schedule an appointment with the specialist in the hospital right away and I (we) had to go through a lot of different tests.

I don't have one most memorable call, but countless phone calls made between my husband and I when we were dating. We dated for 6 years and the majority of that time was long distance. We knew we would get married, but were young and had things we both wanted and needed to accomplish before we got engaged. We spent hours and hours on the phone in various countries, time zones, phone booths etc. Having a cell phone would have been MUCH easier back then. :) It wasn't easy, but it was a great test of our love and commitment as long distance relationships are a lot of work. I still remember that feeling of anticipation waiting for the call. :)

The most memorable call I've had was from my mom a couple of years before she passed away. Mom had alzheimers and could remember our number because she knew it before she got ill. Well, in BC, they ran out of numbers and added 250 to the beginning of every number. This threw mom for a loop and she could not remember the 250 no matter how we tried to help her. I ended up going to the CNIB and got a voice recognizer and all she had to do was pick up the phone and say my name to call me.

She had so many problems and tried so many times without any success. We decided to give it to a rest because she was feeling super stressed about the whole thing.

I was at home one day working on the computer when the phone rang and it was mom. I think both of us just cried for about 5 minutes.

Unfortunately it was the one and only time that she managed to do it, but....I will never forget how proud of I was her and how proud she was of herself.

Thanks

My most memorable call was calling my Mom and Dad to let them know about my engagement. When you are in your 40s and still single, most people just give up on you! They were so happy - and then they spilled the beans! They already knew!! John had sat down with them and asked their permission for my hand in marriage. Old Fashioned? Yes! And adorable!

My most memorable call would be to know that my son would be ok and probably not die after being life-flighted. No one can know the sheer joy and relief you feel from that and I Thank God Almighty maker of Heaven and Earth for that Miracle!!!
