Charlies favorite books of the week:

Friday, August 17, 2012

We've had a fun week of reading and getting new books.  Charlie is a lot like his dad when it comes to books and even has his own booklight/flashlight.  It's the Little Tikes Action Animal Flashlight that he has in his right hand, you can choose from 5 different animals and my son chose the Elephant. He can actually attach it to anywhere but he likes to hold it.  A great $12 investment I must say!

Here are some of his picks to share with EMB readers and hopefully your kids will them as well.

Does your little one love trucks? Well if so then this is the book for you!
You got big trucks, small trucks, tow trucks all kinds of trucks that you can engage your child with.
Also with it's beautiful illustrations pop ups, textures and pull tabs it's sure to be a fun read!

How Do You Feed a HUNGRY GIANT? by Caitlin Friedman
Count, discover food and so much more! It even has a little recipe sheet at the end of the book.
We both love the illustrations in this book and the pull tabs to discover new things.  Kids are never too young to learn about helping others and this is exactly what this book teaches.
You and your child gets to help Oscar feed the giant. But Oscars runs out of ideas and food so what does he do? Get Mom of course! She knows whats to do but you have to get a copy yourself to see how interactive and fun this book really is.

Grab your teddy, climb aboard and get join us for a magical ride to Dreamland Station!
With rhythmic prose and beautiful and fun illustrations my son had a fun 'reading' this book with me especially when it came to the rhymes and joining me as we say "Huff- a- puff-a-Huff-a-puff-a! Choooooooo Choooooo"
It was sweet dreams that night to trains, animals and whimsical fun.

Now this has to be Charlies favorite book.  It is so fun and interactive and if you have a little one who needs glasses and his having a hard time with the transition get this book!
Arlo engages young readers with a perfect light touch and joyful spirit.  They read an eye chart, look through a fold-out phoropter (that big machine optometrists use), and try on different pairs of glasses.
Here's Charlie modelling some of those cool glasses that come in the book!

Go to your local book store or shop via online but Charlie thinks your kids will love these books as much as he does. I wonder what he'll pick next week!
