Nickelodeon presents the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles! Check out the new AR App and show airs Sept.29/12 #TMNT

Something very cool is coming to retail marketing and have your tv's stationed and ready for Sept.29/12 as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming back!  First launched in1984, parents may be feeling a little nostalgic as they can share in the fun with their kids and relive their childhood in this popular 80's show.  You can now get new apparel and new toys, toys, toys like the Shellraiser which also stores your TMNT's (pictured)! I do like the new theme. Give a listen here. I know my soon to be 4yr old will be all over this.  The toys are made by Spinmaster. Awesome dude!

I was recently invited to a Nickelodeon media event to learn about what is new with the show and as a consumer what we can expect.  I have never heard the term "augmented reality".  What is it?
Well Nickelodeon and Walmart are launching a augmented reality app that uses cutting edge technology to the make the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles come to life throughout your local Walmart.  It's actually really cool and first of it's kind for Nickelodeon and in retail marketing.

You have to have a mobile device to activate the AR(augmented reality) so Moms, get out with your boy(s) and hit Walmart as you will be the one in charge going through the store stopping at the signs found in the boys apparel section, shoes and wherever else the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be waiting.
The AR can only be activated at any Walmart Canada store from Sept.20-Oct.1.  Through your mobile, the App is activated through your camera and as you aim your device(phone/tablet) you will follow the Sensai's directions and a 3D Teenage Mutant Turtle will appear.  Moms, I cannot stress how cool this is in person as I got a little taste of it as the media event, watch the video below.  It really is high tec fun and kinda nice for the whole family to get involved and be interactive in this game.  Once you unlock all the characters, your kids will have fun playing the games at home. Free! Well.... I guess it all depends on how much of the cool new merchandise you might splurge on for the holidays or just because but the App is free!
So get out to a Walmart near you, find the signs and do some shopping ;)
