StrollAir: My Duo Review. The ultimate stroller for families of 2 or more....

Wednesday, April 23, 2014

I have a great stroller to tell you about.  It's called My Duo by Canadian stroller manufacturer StrollAir.
It is so versatile and really, truly and excellent side by side stroller.  It's price point is quite affordable at $799 and it comes with so much!  You get a diaper bag, foot muffs, mosquito nets, wind/rain covers that have a cute window so you can open it, 2 pram seats, stroller basket and their canopies are excellent for full coverage.  You can't go wrong with this stroller.  Whether you are expecting twins or a family of 2+.

I've used this through all the seasons to share a full review from the newborn phase to now toddler hood with my twin girls.  In fact my 5 yr old is a part of this review too.  Although he was 4 at the time when I used the stroller with him.  So let me start from the beginning.  New born twins strolling in Stroll Air My Duo in the bassinets.

The Bassinets.
There is an option with StrollAir if you prefer car seat adapters for the stroller.  I prefer a bassinet for baby personally in the sense of sleeping and comfort.
I loved my bassinets and I used it for about 6 months. Easy to install, extra padding and exceptional coverage with a peek a boo window.  Then I switched to the regular stroller seats.  What I loved about this as well is I could carry one twin, have one twin in the bassinet and have my son in the stroller seat.  $149.99 each
The Stroller Seats.
I love the seats as they recline fully and again the exceptional canopy which in the summer is even better as you can unzip and there you will you find a nice mesh for air to circulate.
Seat Measurements:
• backrest height 22 inches
• seat to hood top 24 inches
• seat width 11 inches
• seat depth 9 inches
• footrest length 11 inches

In video reviews that I have seen on My Duo it mentions that the seats may be a little narrow.  I found my 4 year old at the time still had lots of room to move around.  I found it so convenient that for times if I didn't have the hop on board attached I always had a baby carrier with me.  If and when my son would get tired from all the walking we do I can pop one baby in the carrier and my son can ride in the stroller.  Heck, even have a nap!
I can face my twins towards me, have the seats facing out or one twin facing me and one twin facing out.
I like that the bottom of the seats can be lifted up or down.  When reclining the seat you can pull on the strap pull system behind and it will recline slightly or all the way. You can control the angle.  Don't over stuff the basket or it will touch the front wheels.  It's easy to lock and unclock the wheels.
Great for an older child. Because there is a bar in the middle going down from the handle the child will not stand in the center but off to the side.
It was easy to install and retails for $89.99
You can remove it, adjust the length as you will need to so it can fold up when not in use.

Going out about in the city in My Duo.

It gives a smooth ride, it handles easily and turns corners nicely.  It goes through all standard doors without a hitch.  We live in an apartment in the city and I can get the stroller through my door!  I prefer side by side strollers because I find moving it much easier than a tandem stroller.  I can go up and down stairs much easier in a side by side and both babies are in my view at all times.

Public Transportation

Because we don't own a car I take the subway a lot and the bus.  I can fit my stroller and be out of peoples way very easily.  I do use the handicap space in the bus by lifting the seats up and am allowed to do so.  You may find the odd grumpy old bus driver that says you can't but I have no problem speaking up.  Granted if a handicap person needs the space I will obviously move my stroller!  But I have never had a problem.  I can get off and on the bus and subway very easily.
Strolling through the seasons.

Spring, Summer, Fall of course it's going to smooth sailing. In the Summer I can open the canopy and have a nice breeze go through for my girls.  Spring showers don't get my stroller all wet and dirty thanks to their amazing rain covers and Falls cold wind and Winters snow the canopies and rain/wind cover come to the rescue!
Winter wasn't bad but I think if my tires were air it might have been a touch easier to plow through the snow.  I got stuck a couple of times but only because of the amount of snow and paths have not been entirely clear.  I found locking the front tires worked to plow through the snow.

Using My Duo for exercise?

Pushing a side by side is often joked as work out in itself but it is a light stroller and I loved using it for my Stroller Fit classes with FitMom.  Here's a pic of me on my way.

Putting the Stroller together and Folding the My Duo
It took my under 45 min to figure it out and put the stroller together.  The instructions were easy to read and straight forward.  You can adjust the position of the handle bars based on your height and angle the bar for wrist comfort too.
For folding:
I watched a Youtube video and it was so easy! Okay what I really liked was that you don't have to take the seats out!  It fold so easily in 1, 2, 3 easy steps and to open again it's just as easy.  You can even prop it up to save on storage space at home.
All in all this is a fabulous stroller.  It comes with so much and all for only $799.99!  I give it my Seal of Approval because it is much loved, it's so versatile that if you're looking for a great value side by side stroller, look no further.  Get the StrollAir My Duo stroller.

Nicely done, but your font is a bit on the small side for those of us out of the stroller years. Otherwise, great post!

I won one of these strollers and I love it. I didn't get to use it much at first because my one son was getting too big for it but now I'm pregnant again so I will get to use it with my youngest and the baby and can't wait

What an amazing stroller! We've had such troubles finding a proper one when my daughter was a baby, we ended up buying 3 and none of them fulfilled our needs. This stroller has it all and I love how easy it folds.

Wow! It does have an awful lot included. I wish more brands did that. We didn't use a bassinet with my son, but I really think I'd like that option.
