I have been a fan of Joy McCarthy of Joyous Health for quite some time. I bought her cookbook, ‘Joyous Health‘ which is a must have for getting you into eating healthy. It’s truly an amazing book with so much info. I really do love Holistic Nutritionists as they offer you more than just healthy meals. They offer meals that heal, that taste great and leave you feeling much better. Also if you or you know somebody who is into holistic heath, natural beauty products this is the post for you/them! Especially if they enjoy making their own products, learning about natural products or even thinking of getting into aesthetics.
Little did I know, Joy also makes body products. She has her own Natural Beauty Essentials on her site and her Smooth Like Butta Shea Body Butter is a must have this winter season. It is butter for the skin! I am not a fan of lotions so when I got the chance to try some of her products this is definitely my favourite. It’s not greasy. No, no, no. It is heaven for the skin as it’s kind of like a mousse like texture and it smells naturally heavenly. I love the texture as it melts into my skin. I love oils and butta’s that melt into the skin. Lotions are so boring and take work to massage into the skin. Bye, bye dry skin, Hello, healthy nourished skin!
On of my favourite natural beauty products to try are deodorants. I don’t like to use aluminium based deodorants/antiperspirants. I don’t agree with the idea of blocking our pores to prevent sweating. Sweating is a way to detox and cleanse our body and we all have heard what side affects aluminium may have on the brain and surrounding breast tissue & lymph nodes.
Joy does make a great alternative. Natural Deodorant Creams is a fantastic and one I reach for often. If you don’t have a sensitivity to baking soda(it may make the pits itch after a while based on your body chemistry) this is a great one to try and priced better than others, plus you know..made by Joy! It’s $15.50 and a little goes a long way. You can tuck it in your purse in case you need to add a little more until you find the right amount to use that will last the whole day. I love Lavender!
Joy’s Minty Fresh Toothpaste is another favourite of mine. I like to put a drop of my Colloidal Silver to clean my brush and I dab a little of her fresh tasting, fluoride-free toothpaste. I love the natural whitening effects from the baking soda. Hey, I have seen a difference! It’s not foamy and made with no added chemicals. I don’t want to use chemicals on my teeth that “are also used to clean industrial machinery and shine floors”.
I am excited to tell you about her ‘Natural Beauty Guide‘ and Joy is offering a giveaway for one lucky Everything Mom and Baby fan! Your skin reflects what’s going on in the body. When I was working as an Esthetician and addressing clients skin concerns, I was pretty spot on as Face mapping(diagnosing skin conditions based on zones of the face that represent organs. ie: chin =’s hormonal imbalances) is real and true thanks to Chinese medicine. I was able to help them as products do work but so does a healthy lifestyle. Diet, stress, lifestyle, cleansing habits play a big roll on how your skin looks. Healthy skin looks good. Forget a great outfit(okay, it’s nice too) but when I see healthy skin, I am taken aback. In Joy’s Natural Beauty Guide you learn about a healthy diet for proper digestion, 14 D-I-Y’s to make at home and other beauty lifestyles tips to try. Here is a little peak!
With that I hope you’ll explore Joy’s site. I am a big advocate for a healthy lifestyle, eating well and everything in moderation. I hope you love her site as much as I do and maybe try some of her natural beauty products. Good luck on the giveaway. Heck, for $35 you can purchase and gift it to someone that loves natural skincare and as tween’s are getting into skincare products, education is key and natural skin care is a great place to start to nourish their skin. You may be inspired and build your own skincare empire.
Blessed Be, thanks for visiting! ~ Erica
