Some of our favourite things to do as a family is to play games. It teaches kids patience, it’s educational, memory, critical thinking, it lengthens the thought process and some are small enough to take on the road and/or put in the stocking. Right now we’re all about Spot It! and Braintopia and it’s fantastic.
It’s a great way to spend as a family.
It’s an award-winning game of visual perception for the whole family. Between any two cards, there is always one and only one matching symbol. Spot it fast to win, Five challenging ways to play for hours of frenzied fun for 2 to 8 players and it also develops focus, visual perception skills, speech-language skills, and fine motor skills. It’s easy to get into and we love the different ways to use it. This is small enough to fit into a stocking and great gift to bring.
This is a challenging game. For coordination and memory. This challenge tests not only your coordination but also your memory. Before flipping the card, you have to familiarize yourself with the assigned colours and numbers associated with each hand. Your right hand is red and your left-hand blue and your fingers are numbered one through five on each. When you flip the card, you will see a face with coloured numbers on it, and you must simultaneously touch those fingers to those parts of your face while slapping the challenge card. The more you play, the easier it will be to remember which fingers are which, but anyone can still get flustered and forget when immersed in the game. This also is a great hostess gift and depending on the size of your stocking it could fit in.
This is a great party game! Dixit is the classic game of storytelling and guesswork where your imagination unlocks the tale. Of course, the real victory in Dixit is not in amassing points, but in sharing a creative experience with your family and friends. Each round, one player selects a card from his or her hand, thinks up a sentence, and plays the card facedown, telling the others the sentence conjured by the card, can you see how this can turn into a fun party game?! It’s for ages 8 and up.
The artwork of this game is really something and the quality. It also comes with a soundtrack as it all comes together in this fun, cooperative game.
“A horrible crime was committed on the grounds of Warwick Manor, thirty years ago. Now, the mansion is haunted by the ghost of the murdered servant, and it’s up to a group of psychic investigators to get to the bottom of the mystery. Mysterium is a cooperative game of deduction and teamwork for two to seven players. Over the course of the game, one player takes on the role of the ghost and over the course of a few scant hours, tries to lead the psychics to the correct culprit.”
