Traditional Chinese Medicine to cleansing your liver with Orange Naturals

I  love TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine).   I have a doctor I go to in Chinatown and I love acupuncture and using herbs to treat conditions such as my itchy psoriasis which has gotten inflamed.  Too much heat in my liver apparently.  Triggers are shellfish, Caesars(which as you may I know, I love!), potato chips(Oh, Miss Vickie’s) and wine and stress. Fatty and processed foods, alcohol and even medications can all stress your liver and make its job much harder.  It may also be why some may have a harder time losing weight.

With springtime, the liver flourishes in TCM.  Blocked Qi can cause a number of issues. Angry? Short tempered, I can easily admit that that’s me as I am exasperated at times as a stay at home mom with no family nearby to help but that’s also my liver talking.  I’ve noticed such a change since cleansing my liver and using tinctures and TCM medicine.  It is such a wake-up call as my body is/was sending me messages to take care of it (ie: my psoriasis

Cleansing the body is especially beneficial in spring not only because of the liver’s function of filtering toxins, but emotionally as well – emotions like frustration, impatience and anger are associated with the liver and a cleansing of the body and emotions allows us to clear out old residues and enables us to see more clearly and move forward in life with renewed passion and purpose.” from Chinses Medicine Living

I love the springtime because it welcomes fresh possibilities, growth and cleansing (everything from the house, to the car, to the body and soul!). With growth and turnover, allergies pop up these months too.  My husband is suffering mildly but thanks to homeopathy his allergies have not been as bad as it was in the past.

In Traditional Chinese medicine, the liver has its dominant action in the spring. Which is so fitting, since it is our primary organ of detoxification!  My husband is doing a liver cleanse as well which I found to be interesting time during the playoffs but he remembered me telling him that every Fall & Spring we must do a cleanse.  We use the Liver Health tincture and couple it with a cleaner diet, we up our B Vitamins, drink more water and I also juice fresh raw juices and reduce our sugar intake for a few weeks and we always end up feeling better and losing a little weight as well.   This Master Cleanse salad is so good too!
LiverHealth

Liver Health uses TCM traditions and combines milk thistle, dandelion, burdock and stinging nettle to support healthy liver function. Milk thistle contains silymarin, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the liver so that it can do its housekeeping. Burdock turns on the tap and clears out waste products.

  • Protects the liver
  • Supports liver function
  • Relieves digestive disturbances
  • Increases bile flow
  • Acts as a nutritive tonic

Your liver is your body’s engine! It is the largest internal organ and weighs in at about 3 pounds.  I bet you know someone with a fatty liver.  It is common and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common liver disease in Canada, affecting over 7 million people.  Acetaminophen overdose is the leading cause of acute liver failure.   So this spring join me and my hubby as we do a gentle detox with the help of tinctures from Orange Naturals, fresh juices, B Vitamins and drinking more water and less….beer!   My psoriasis changes from day to day but it is getting better thanks to my to TCM cream and tinctures and herbs.  I don’t want to hide behind long sleeve shirts as my elbows suffer.
