I recently had a lovely facial at the Hand & Stone Spa on the Danforth. Have you heard of Hand & Stone Spa? There are lots of locations across the GTA and more are popping up every day. What I really like about Hand & Stone Spa is that they are affordable! With the season’s changing so does our skin so I was due for some much-needed hydration and soothing for my skin type.
Self-care is very important to me. Don’t we all need a breather and take some time out for ourselves? I can’t believe how nice it was to be the one to let go and get pampered. You see, I myself am an esthetician and I give myself facials once in while but it’s truly not the same. I was greeted at the Hand & Stone Spa with a warm welcome and my first impressions were it’s a nice space, it was clean, calm and professional. I filled out my health history form and went over my skincare regime as I met with my esthetician Cecilia.
She took me downstairs to her treatment room and I settled into my room and got under the covers of my heated bed and took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Her touch was lovely, the products used on my skin was all Dermalogica and I must say, I am a new fan of that skincare line!
She took care of my skins’ sensitivity. She knew to not use steam and was gentle as we said goodbye to my blackheads. I am a little picky when it comes to facials. I’ve had other facials before where I’ve wanted to get up and leave. I trusted Cecilia the moment she laid her hands on me to cleanse my face and decolletage. She has a good touch as I mentioned already and she applied product nicely rather than just “plopping” it on as I’ve experienced in the past at other spa’s, also book an esthetician that doesn’t smoke. Another thing that I loved about my facial was there no smell of nicotine on her hands as I’ve experienced that at other spa’s. After cleansing and exfoliating she deep cleansed my pores and gave me a lovely massage. You won’t believe how much tension you carry in your face until you get a facial massage, I didn’t want it to end. During the mask, I also had an arm and hand massage. She never left the room and everything was top notch and spot on. I was really impressed with my Sensitive Skin facial at The Hand & Stone Spa and I’ve been thinking when to go back. Oh, and I did mention how affordable it is? Get your own Introductory Facial at just $69.95!
My skin was radiant and rejuvenated after that long winter it was just what my skin needed as we move from spring to summer. When I left, well I’d say I floated away and I left with a bottle of Dermalogica’s new BioLumin-C Serum. BioLumin-C Serum was formulated with advanced technology to deliver more Vitamin C into the skin. This superior formula outperforms other Vitamin C products on the market (including those formulated at higher concentrations). I have a spot of pigmentation that is already disappearing!
Vitamins aren’t just good for overall health, they’re also effective for skin health. Look for vitamin E to fight off free radicals and vitamin C for collagen production. Try Hand & Stone’s Rejuvenating Facial, infused with antioxidants, to replenish the nourishment your skin needs for spring.
Homecare after a facial is recommended so if your esthetician recommends something to help with the health of your skin, treat yourself.
