The beauty of The 7 Virtues Perfume #MakePerfumeNotWar

Have you heard of The 7 Virtues?
I am very excited to tell you about this Canadian line because it is truly beautiful and free of toxic preservatives.  Moms, moms to be, young girls this is for you!

#MakePerfumeNotWar
The 7 Virtues Beauty is a Canadian company based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. They believe they must flex their buying power to empower families in countries that are rebuilding. 7 Virtues are made in Canada with essential oils from nations including Haiti, Afghanistan and the Middle East.   The 7 Virtues goal is to encourage other businesses to do trade with business people in Afghanistan, Haiti, The Middle East and other nations experiencing strife as a part of the solution to building peace.

Why I love it? This line of perfumes uses no parabens, no phthalates.  The 7 Virtues has taken into consideration the general toxicological profile of each ingredient used, the chemical structure, the CIR panel evaluation where available, the level of exposure (full technical data and/or toxicology files are held for each ingredient) and a total daily exposure has been calculated along with the margins of safety for each ingredient. As a result of our evaluation, the product has been classified as SAFE.

Smell good without a toxic cloud overhead…
I feel good that I can smell good without a toxic cloud especially when I hold my babies. I mist myself knowing that I’m not absorbing the chemicals I have found in other perfumes like BHT and other hormone-disrupting chemicals that may lead to cancer.  But if you look at the ingredients in The 7 Virtues perfumes as I mentioned above there are no phthalates.  What’s the deal with phthalates? Diethyl phthalate, a chemical found linked to sperm damage in human epidemiological studies which concentrates in human fat tissue and breast milk can be found in the big name brands of perfumeries around the world.   Isn’t it amazing that there’s a fragrance company like The 7 Virtues? As a breastfeeding mom, I appreciate a phthalate free fragrance.

Their Eaux de Parfum contain natural essential oils and fragrance oils blended with alcohol denat, parfum (fragrance), aqua (water). Each fragrance is sourced to economically support their suppliers in countries experiencing war or strife. Their goal is to encourage a cavalry of businesses to come and do trade with nations rebuilding.  It’ also vegan.  I had no idea some perfumes weren’t?!

The one scent that I love the most is Afghanistan Orange Blossom. Sweet, floral – made with organic oils.  It’s heaven in a bottle.  Rose is pretty spectacular too.

The 7 Virtues comes in 5 intoxicating essential oil infused aroma’s(Patchouli of Rwanda is unisex) and I’m personally a big fan of The Blend Box where you can create your own signature scent.  That way you get a little of everything and you never get tired of the same scent.

Yes, the good ‘ol factory system. The power of scent. I hope your perfume is free from some of the toxic stuff I mentioned. I had no idea until I started researching.

Lol. Love the toxic cloud comment. I loved perfume growing up… I was always mesmerized by my Mom applying it. I stopped using fragrances when I started dating my husband. He taught me about phalates and all the chemicals in our favorite scents. Especially for special occasions, I would love to find a scent that was also safe. Will have to look for this one.

Me too. My first was Christian Dior. My mom always wore Joy by Jean Patou. I love perfume and it brings back so many memories of my mother.
