Breville Canada has done it again! Imagine a countertop pizza maker that gives you the same results as a brick oven? It’s called the Crispy Crust Pizza Maker($230) Would you be having pizza parties? Well, we have and we’ll never go back to ordering delivery again.
Kids love pizza, adults love pizza-does anyone not like pizza? The options are endless when it comes to toppings and bases. When it comes to the base of sauces we go for classic tomato, pesto and even béchamel! The beauty of the Crispy Crust is the ceramic pizza stone which is what gives you the brick oven effect for cooking your pizza. You can choose from thin, medium and thick crust and the keep warm options are fantastic. It took me a few tries to get it right and I am happy with the Crispy Crust, it really makes delicious pizza- well I do perhaps 😉 with the ingredients I use. Don’t forget to prick the dough with your fork once it’s rolled out so you don’t have the crust rising too much as it might burn the element. If you can find Bothwell Mozzarella use it! It’s the best mozzarella, in my opinion, those in Western Canada are lucky to get it as I get mine shipped in from Winnipeg. Also, I found homemade dough to be much better than store bought pizza dough with our pizza maker. It gets hot so be careful.
Clean up is a breeze, just wait for everything to cool down. I rarely give the stone a wash but have done so carefully. Just a little water and baking soda over the areas that need washing. You don’t want to use soap as it will absorb into the stone.
If you don’t want to make pizza go ahead and make flat bread too! The Crispy Crust is my back up for when I don’t want to use the oven for pizza or flatbreads. It uses less energy too. You can have restaurant quality Neapolitan thin crust pizza ready in about 5 minutes and that is why I like my Crispy Crust Pizza Maker.
What I love most about this kitchen appliance is has brought us all together in the kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of the home and I love seeing the kids get their dough rolled out as they love to help out and be in the kitchen with me. The twins are getting more independent by the day and they know what they like. We prep our toppings in little bowls and they place it on their pizza. Every Friday we do a pizza so stay tuned for tonights version as I’ll post on Instagram and even though this appliance was given to me to conduct this review, my opinions are always my own and are never influenced.
Size & Storage
I can store the Crispy Crust easily as I don’t find it too, too bulky. It fits right in my accent cabinet. Depending on the size of your counters, you can store it there too but I have a small kitchen so tucked away it goes. It’s not too heavy to lift out either. The kids get excited whenever I pull it out. I love that I can make smaller pizza’s and the kids can customise their own pizza. It’s a hit at birthday parties!

I love a classic Margarita pizza, the fresh basil is just delicious. Are you hungry yet? It really makes great pizza-very gourmet actually. Skip the frozen aisle when shopping and looking at pizza and just make it fresh with Breville. It’s worth the investment if you make pizza all the time and you can find them on sale online. It’s a unique product to get brick oven style pizza at home and some of those Neopolitan pizzeria’s can be quite pricey for a simple ‘za.
I’ve been trying to make a sourdough crust after some inspiration from a pizza a joint in Denmark, but it never works out. It must be my starter but I will master it and share again here or on my Instagram. Pizza is so versatile. I’d like to share one from Breville actually. The Pizza Bianca.
