Creating new healthy habits #ONatural

I recently joined a group lead by a friend of a friend who is a holistic practitioner.  It’s a great group that I am enjoying so far as we’re starting to gently clean our livers, flush your kidneys and lymphatic system. I’ll share with you some of my favourite things that are easy to do to start feeling better.

I’ve been on and off the working out bandwagon so much I feel silly even mentioning it again but I’ll give it another go.  Between my go-to’s is FitnessBlender and Jillian Michaels Hot Body Healthy Mommy which I’ll do again right after I finish typing this. But since starting this last week I have noticed a positive difference in my overall well being just by doing the following.  I’d love for you to try it too and let me know how you feel.  I’ll be doing gentle booze detox too.  Alcohol not only causes liver cell death but is a class 1 carcinogen.  Sigh……

Start feeling better just by starting out with these easy habits:

– Start the morning with a glass of water and fresh lemon. Lemon wakes up the digestive tract, gently aids in detoxing the liver too.
– Hibiscus and Chia drink.  It manages blood pressure, full of vitamins, chia has 5x more calcium than milk!
– Lymph drainage shower.  Talk about a quick and easy way to flush the body.  Near the end of your shower process, for 3-5 rotations of this, turn the faucet to as cool or cold as you can handle it for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Of course working with Orange Naturals I have found their CanPrev Magnesium amazing and my husband loves the ElectroMag, while I drink the MagPop after my workouts.  I also need to get him on CoQ10 for his heart.

Hibiscus-Chia-Tea-Drink
To make your own Hibiscus Chia drink all you need is:
A large mason jar full of pure, clean water. 2 tbsp of dried hibiscus flowers. Let it sit for four hours. Strain. Add 2 tbsp of chia seeds and stir well.  Let it sit another 20-30 minutes. Drink this all day. Chew on the chia seeds for better protein availability.

I am also incorporating more of a plant based diet.  For example, yesterday I made cauliflower bechamel to go with spinach penne pasta.  As someone who cooks mostly French style meals at home and delicious creamy bechamel with butter, flour and milk I was pleasantly surprised!  Do you want the recipe?! Let me know! O Natural has an awesome newsletter full of health tips, tricks, recipes where I get a lot of my inspiration from.  Do check it out.

So we’ll see how my 30 day challenge goes.  I like the new habits I am adding to my daily life and I hope to get healthier and stronger one day at a time. Follow me along on Facebook and Instagram.  Today’s challenge is Green Smoothies! I can’t wait.

Also, something I am greatly passionate about is making my own health decisions when it comes to the health of my family.  Please have a look at what is changing when it comes to making an informed choice on their health and wellbeing.
On July 31st 2016 your access to safe and effective homeopathic medicines for your children’s coughs, colds and flus will be severely restricted. New Health Canada labelling laws will require that homeopathic cough, cold or flu medicines will no longer be made available for children under age 13.
