I love the Philips Viva Airfryer!

The Philips Viva Airfryer is one of my favourite kitchen appliances, hands down.  I’ve been experimenting with it all week and it is truly a handy item to have.  I’ve had one kitchen fail, baking a cake in it today but it’s my fault and I will try again!

The Philips Viva Airfryer, bakes, fries and roasts.  It’s amazing that it can do all this and with little to no oil if you choose to fry.  I’ve made delicious home fried chicken with no oil actually.  I used chicken thighs and legs and that has enough fat to air fry those babies up and I finished with chicken breasts.   Move over KFC! Never again will you need to order that.  You can make your own which is probably healthier too as you know what kind of chicken you are buying, if you shop you at a butcher you tend to know where the bird comes from.  I love Blue Goose when I don’t get to my favourite butcher over on Mt.Pleasant.  I just seasoned the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder, dipped it in egg and dusted with flour.   You actually don’t even need to do “breading”.  I made some “naked” and it was delicious and juicy.
Now I was hesitant, would I have to start buying frozen food?  How would fresh food work? Would it work? Air fry? Seriously? Well I have been blown away.  I have always wanted a deep fryer but no more.  I am very pleased with the quality of my Viva Airfryer and that I really need no oil as it air fries grabbing the oils from the food and circulating it.  If you make fresh french fries, you will need to one tablespoon of oil.  But I’ve made tasty french fries, chicken as you can see and what I really find amazing is I made kale chips!  It would take me hours to make homemade kale chips and I can have my own batch ready in about 10 minutes.
KaleChips-VivaAirfryerYou can get accessories for it as well.  I had a chocolate cake fail.  The Viva AirFryer comes with a little cook book. I read wrong and placed the baking accessory in the frying basket which I  don’t think was right, it can go right in the actual basket. I realized my boo boo and took it out and just placed in it in the regular container and it baked better.  When I checked on it, I inserted it in different spots and it came out clear.  Well…I was wrong as you can see on my recent instagram.  It tasted so good.  I may eat it anyways but I will try again!  The grill pan is really great too.  I can’t get over how wonderful this little appliance is.  Prices range depending on where you shop, from $199.99-$299.99 and if you’re a mom who likes to cook this would be a great Mother’s Day gift.  And don’t worry, I’m not excluding the guys. I’m sure dad’s read my blog too, lol.  This would also be great for Father’s Day.

chocolatecakeSo how does it work?
VivaAirFryerRaidHeatIt doesn’t take up too much room at all and it’s light!  Philips Airfryer’s combines fast circulating superheated air, starfish design and optimal heating profile allows you to fry a variety of delicious meals in a fast, easy and healthier way without necessarily adding oil.  IT DOESN’T SMELL! The removable nonstick coated drawer and the food basket are dishwasher safe for a quick and easy clean up. Philips Airfryer with Rapid Air Technology saves you and your home from the smell of fried oil compared to a regular fryer.  IT’S SO EASY TO CLEAN.  Another reason why I love it.

I was sent the Philips Viva Airfry to review but opinions are always my own.  I seriously think this is a great kitchen appliance that one can own and do recommend it.  I look forward to using it more and more and experimenting with recipes and ways to eat healthier through airfrying.
Thank you for reading my review!  Have a great day.

I love my airfryer too, we love fries and it great not having to cook them in oil and they taste amazing

Exactly! It’s not greasy or stinky compared to frying them in a pan. I like Cavendish for a back up but fresh potatoes from the farmers market and a little coconut oil. Throw in some fresh herbs like thyme and rosemary and then fresh parmesan shavings and you got swanky fries 😉

I’ve heard a lot about this air fryer on social media the past few months. It’s such an innovative, healthy new way to cook from Philips. With anything new, it does take some trial & error and training on how to properly use, but I think it’s worth it for the health factor here. The foods looks like they turn out great.

I’ve wanted an airfryer but the price turns me off. Would I use it enough ? prob not, as I bought a deep fryer and used it twice in a year and ended up giving it to my daughter.
