After a hefty dentist bill for my son’s teeth, well the whole family needed cleanings and cavities filled so my husband told me that I need to watch spending as my son’s mouth cost us a small fortune. I’m sure some of you have been in a similar situation. With Thanksgiving this weekend I’ve been thinking how can I start saving money for our lavish feast where we celebrate our family and share our blessings as there is so much to be thankful for.
I recently had the opportunity to work with Yellow Pages. Well, you can now find everything and save paper by downloading the Yellow Pages app. The YP mobile and tablet applications allow you to discover your local neighbourhood and make smarter decisions with the help of reviews, photos, videos, maps, and more information on your great local businesses. The YP app also features a gas finder, taking price, location, and service station information into account to find the best deals, in real time, on gas in your area.
I personally like the YP Grocery app because I can create shareable grocery lists and browse the best deals from my favourite stores. Plus I can keep all my loyalty cards in a virtual folder and more. It’s home to 500+ flyers from 6,000+ stores across Canada, syndicating all the best deals from stores you already shop at, right to your phone.
{#ad} Save money this #Thanksgiving with smart grocery lists using @YpGrocery Click To TweetSo right now, I’m looking for a turkey. I enter the word turkey and I’m shown on the app that I have 9 deals to choose from. I keep Thanksgiving dinner pretty simple. My menu is Turkey with shallots and thyme, stuffing, mashed potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. I’ve picked my usual stores that are close to me on the app, made my list and it looks like my best bet is to go Sobeys. I add cream to my mashed potatoes and I can see that the prices are better No Frills than at my Sobeys(it’s $2.99 there compared to $1.97 at No Frills). Because I need bread for stuffing I have 30 deals to choose from! It looks like Sobeys has the better prices, although as I am browsing it looks like I may be better off going to Rexall as Wonderbread is only $1.99 which is great for stuffing. Do I really need to use $4.49 Artisanal bread from Sobeys?
I refuse to pay full price now that I can use the YP Grocery app. I am within walking distance to my favourite stores that I am almost mad at myself for not thinking of using the YP Grocery app sooner. I always thought for some reason like couponing that it would take too much time. At least I don’t have to cut the coupons out. I can see the deals right there on my phone and ditch the junk mail. If you’d like to save some loot, check Yellow Pages. I have my list ready and stores in place to get all that I need for my signature Thanksgiving dinner.

The ability to keep all my numerous rewards cards all in one place plus save money on groceries is awesome & so very useful! I need to get my mom using this as she gets her deals from just a small handful of flyers. It would blow her mind that this has access to 500+!
Mama Ash | 11th Oct 17
I hope she likes it! I am always digging around for my loyalty cards so with that and hopefully, she won’t need “junk flyers” anymore.
